"Ice Age: Dawn of The Dinosaurs" Review

A Review of Christian Reviews of Ice Age: Dawn of The Dinosaurs

ChristianAnswers.net states "It is the other content of the film (and there is a lot of it) that makes this truly not worth seeing.". They point out lines like "bun in the oven", "before he came out ", and a scene where a male yak is attempted to be "milked". One of the commenter's on this site points out the somewhat blasphemous use of scripture “An eye for a tooth and a tooth for an eye or something like that, I never understood it. Whoever came up with it its a stupid saying" See the full review of Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and Comments here.

PluggedinOnline points out one scene of concern: "Manny tells his 'preggers' mate that 'round is foxy.' When trapped together in the gut of a man-eating plant, Diego [male] tells Manny [male], 'I feel tingly.' Manny replies, 'Don't say that when you're pressed up against me!' But, Pluggedin ultimately fails to really give approval or disapproval of this movie with a conclusion: Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs has a bit of that flotsam [inappropriate content] floating in its stream of banter . . . But as Manny might put it, there's plenty here to trumpet." Whatever that means? See full Plugged In review of Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs here.

Crosswalk.com mentions: Instances of rude scatological humor and a couple of homosexual innuendos. Ultimately Crosswalk titles their review Creativity of "Ice Age" Series Close to Extinction, which provides a hint as to what they think of the movie. Movieguide.org states "The funny jokes and exciting jeopardy hardly let up in DAWN OF THE DINOSAURS, but some intense scary moments and a couple gender-bending references require a slight caution. Read the full Movieguide review of Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs here

Movie Or Not Recommendation: Don't Take The Kids. This movie seems like it would be a nice family movie, but the "toilet humor" and subtle sexual references would keep me from taking my family. And what is perhaps even more concerning was the disrespectful use of scripture mentioned by one commenter. If the kids want to see a movie, go down to your local department store and pick up an oldie. Some good choices are listed at our Family Movies page.
